![]() I've purchased all but the 12v Hercules products within 3 months of their release and I work doing home remodeling and DIY projects for myself. My friends love to shit on me for buying HF but both my Hercules table saw/miter saw impressed the hell out of them especially the blades that I gave them for emergencies. Although I can't comment on quality for that saw because I've never used it.ĭude, I love mine. Another alternative to look at is the Hitachi/HPT Metabo, it has a similar rack and pinion fence. And again, if you're doing fine woodworking on a job site saw, you'll want something more stable than the stands that come with these saws (You'll need to make one). I'd at least step up to the DWE-7480 or DWE-7491 if you have the space. Depending on what you mean by woodworking: if you intend to make fine furniture on it, I probably wouldn't get it for that. The Dewalt jobsite saws are far and away the best job site saws because of the rack and pinion fence.Īs far as precision, it won't compete with a contractor saw (Like a Delta 36-725), few if any job site saws will (Maybe the big dewalt 7491, but probably not). If you can get it cheaper than 299, it could be worthwhile. The "Compare to" is the DWE-7480, which is a bigger saw with more rip capacity. For what it costs (299), it competes with the Dewalt DWE745 (Similar size table and rip capacity), which is often available for the same price on sale.
